The Seventh Sage by haru5319 The Seventh Sage by haru5319

"When evil rules all, an awakening voice from from the Sacred Realm will call those destined to be Sages who dwell in the five temples."

I have been promising myself that I would get to uploading more pictures from both San Japan and A-kon from earlier this year, but I am super lazy and busy trying to get my art portfolio ready for this December. Legend of Zelda Link between worlds came out today so this seems appropriate, I have to quash my eagerness to play it though since I have been banned from buying it since it is a potential Christmas present…also, it got really cold here today so I wanted to look through pics of warmer times~

At San Japan I finally got to cosplay Princess Zelda from Ocarina of Time. This was a dream come true for me since I have been in love with LoZ (and particularly OoT) since I was a little kid. I want to remake so much of this cosplay, but I will save that for a later date. This is the beginning of my LoZ cosplay’s, I have two more that I am about to start on for this next year! (neither of them are a Zelda) As much as I love this character this was a hard cosplay for me. A few days before San Japan I was starting to paint on the tabard and I came to the conclusion that no one at the con would know that I was going to bring Zelda but didn’t. I was super tired and frustrated with so many little things with Zelda that I almost set it aside. However, I am glad that I pushed through and finished her, I had so many little girls calling me Princess; it was the cutes thing ever. It rivals my Aerith moment when a little boy was so happy that Aerith was alive. Little kids man, they make conventions so memorable!!!!

So onto construction

All of the armor is made out of craft foam with model magic for the raised designs then coated with a couple of coats of mod podge and finally painted then resealed. The belt pieces and the majority of the crown are made out of model magic the sealed and painted like the armor. The red gem in the crown was caste out of resin then placed into the model magic. This was my first time working with model magic, I really loved how it turned out. It’s a lot easier to work with than sculpt and far lighter.

The tabard is completely hand painted (which you really can’t see in this pic), I’m not sure how long it took me but it was at least of day of painting something, letting it dry, painting another coat and so on before I could sew the bias tape and back piece to it. It is by far my favorite part of this cosplay.

I am not gonna go into detail about the dress and over top thing, it was a bunch of sewing and creating of own patterns with help from :iconsky01781: I love her and her genius seamstress brain!!!! I made the skirt too short and too big for myself. I should have doubled up on my material…but didn’t…so it’s all a little thin. The over top thing is WAY too big. In general the entire thing was too large for me…I hate sewing… most of the time…

I bought a blue ocarina on ebay then added the silver embellishment so I could have my very own Ocarina of Time. Yes I can play it, I’m just not that wonderful at it, I am practicing though!

I purchased the gloves off of a seller on ebay since I was too terrified to attempt them myself!

Shoes were previously owned, so score for not having to worry about foot wear!

Ears were purchased from Aradani Studios here…

I love this picture so much! You look so regal and maybe a little mischievous. I'm so glad you brought Zelda to San Japan, it was incredible to see all the beautiful details you were able to incorporate into this cosplay and it made my day to see those little girls get so excited to meet you!
